Exploring the World Boss Exploring the World Boss

Welcome Hero or Heroine!

During the visit from the content creators, we aimed to present something significant. We offered our guests the opportunity to experience an early version of the World Boss event, set to launch on 24th July 2025. This not only allowed them to engage with an unreleased feature but also provided a platform for valuable feedback.

Alpha Testing

Play tests conducted during the development phase accessible only to a select group, are referred to as Alpha tests. During Alpha play tests, participants evaluate a feature version that is still under development and, therefore, not fully completed. In contrast, Beta tests involve a stable version of the feature and are intended for a wider audience, although they may still be restricted (closed beta).

Typically, Alpha tests are exclusive to the Alpha Group. However, we seized the opportunity to gather additional feedback from content creators early in the development process by allowing them to participate in the event during their visit to our headquarter in Hamburg. This approach granted us valuable insights into player understanding and engagement with the event.

The content creators (CCs) were enthusiastic about participating in this play test and provided invaluable feedback, as confirmed by our Team Lead Quality Assurance (QA), Playa-Patrick:

“They showcased quick learning skills and really understood the event well, offering some valuable feedback along the way. It was enjoyable presenting an in-production feature to players in a constructive and in-person environment and to see them play it their own way. Hearing new perspectives helps us in QA to come to new conclusions or find new approaches to existing problems.”

Feedback from Content Creators

After the playtest, we asked the content creators for direct feedback on their first impression of the World Boss event.

It seems that the content creators have recognized the potential of this feature and generally see it as an interesting addition to Shakes & Fidget.

We have received further feedback that requires closer examination due to its complexity, as it mainly concerns the rewards and how they can be made more attractive. Additionally, it was noted that the event should have various themes to make it more engaging and entertaining.

The content creators would have liked to play more, but to give everyone the opportunity to gain firsthand experience with the World Boss's playsession, time slots had to be time-limited and the rest of the programm was packed full with other important meetings.

How does the World Boss event work?

The world of Shakes & Fidget will be facing its greatest threat: The World Boss - huge, terrifying and ready to destroy everything! All heroes and heroines from one game world are asked to gather to defeat the World Boss. World Bosses usually are a temporary threat and may withdraw after a three-day-period.

Here is how it works:

  • Sign up with town banners and automatically deal damage to the World Boss.
  • Upgrade your catapult with catalysts and resources. The stronger, the higher the damage!
  • From 10x upgrades, you will have a chance to perform special attacks.
  • Battle loot with medals and extras is available daily. The higher the damage, the higher the loot!
  • Boss rewards will await you daily, and ranking rewards for heroes and entire game worlds will be waiting for you at the end of the event!
  • Defeat the boss, honor your town, and secure big rewards!

Special Reward: World Boss Frame

The three most successful players from each game world will receive a special World Boss frame in bronze, silver, or gold. The frames are limited to a duration of 60 days – similar to the backgrounds of the Hellevator.
