Server Outage on the Night of July 23 – What Happened?

Heroes and Heroiness,

On the night of July 23, between roughly 00:30 and 07:10 (CEST), several of our game worlds experienced an outage. Players who wanted to log in during that time were unable to access the affected worlds. We'd like to briefly explain what happened.

What caused it?

Our hosting provider had a technical fault overnight that caused several of our server systems to go down temporarily. As a result, the affected game worlds were unreachable for login. Afterwards, not all systems came back online automatically, so our team had to check and manually restart the affected systems, which took some additional time.

Did this have anything to do with the ongoing Worldboss event?

No. The outage had no connection whatsoever to the currently running Worldboss event or our game code. It was purely an external technical issue on our hosting provider's side, unrelated to any in-game activity.

Will there be compensation?

Yes. Since the outage caused players on F9 to lose event time during the ongoing Worldboss, we've compensated all players registered for the Worldboss on F9 with 200 mushrooms. (Later registrations for the Worldboss do not count.)
